Professor Luk Rombauts

Prof. Rombauts is a practising gynaecologist with a subspecialist qualification in reproductive endocrinology and infertility. He has developed an international profile as a clinical researcher in women’s health with a special focus on endometriosis. He combines a heavy clinical load with leadership, academic, and government roles.

He was appointed Adjunct Clinical Professor at Monash University in the Dept of O&G in 2016 and served as Head of Reproductive Medicine at Monash Health from 2012-2023.

He served as an elected member on the Board of the World Endometriosis Society for over 12 years, serving as President-Elect for 2 years and as President for 2 years until 2023. He was a Trustee of the World Endometriosis Research Foundation between 2011-2024. He has been a co-chair of the Special Interest Group Endometriosis for ASPIRE from 2021-2024 and a member of the International Advisory Board for the Taiwan Endometriosis Society since 2021.

He served on the Board of the Fertility Society of Australia and New Zealand for 12 years, 4 as Vice-President and 4 as President until 2023. In 2016 he was appointed as Group Medical Director of Monash IVF Group, one of the largest IVF companies globally.
