Simon Ainsworth is the Managing Director of Eden Gardens & Garden Centres Pty Ltd, Gro Urban Oasis, Director and Chair of Eden Estates (Newcastle) Pty Ltd and Director of Regal Land Pty Ltd. He is a Director of and manages over 15 companies and trading trusts across the industries of retail, financial investments, land development, housing and commercial development. He is a founding Director of the Grevillea Foundation Ltd, Director of Eden Foundation Philanthropic Ancillary Fund and Director of the Ainsworth Foundation Philanthropic Ancillary Fund each supporting a wide range of activities. He has experience as a public company board member and has contributed to two Australia IPO’s. Simon served as a Justice of the Peace for over 10 years.

Simon is a qualified horticulturist with an Associate Diploma of Applied Science from Hawkesbury Agricultural College (now University of Western Sydney) after studying earth sciences and psychology at the University of NSW, Sydney as part of his Special Honours in Psychology (Arts). Simon holds an AIDC/UNE Diploma for the Company Directors Course.

Simon has worked in small and large business for over 40 years with practical industry experience in manufacturing, international sales and operations, demand management, planning, domestic and international distribution, customer satisfaction, licensing, compliance, and law.  He has lived in UK managing European, Middle Eastern and African markets.

Simon served as the Patron of The Cactus and Succulent Society of NSW from 2015 to 2025.
